About Rødne

Fjord adventures

Fjord cruise
Rødne Fjord Cruise offers fjord adventures from Bergen, Stavanger and Tromsø for companies, locals and tourists from around the world. The company was established in 1956 to provide boat transport for school children and residents of Ryfylke district’s many islands. Now, we provide scheduled routes and ambulance services for island communities along Norway’s west coast and offer fjord adventures for the charter and tourist markets from Bergen, Stavanger and Tromsø. With over 60 years of experience in these waters, we claim the right to call ourselves The Fjord Experts.

In 1974, we started sightseeing tours from Stavanger through the wild and beautiful landscapes of spectacular Lysefjord, opening a new era for the company.  Our goal was and is to share unique experiences in the natural wonder of the fjords with our guests. Our tours are now a ‘must’ for tourists from near and far visiting western Norway.  Year-round tourism is a company cornerstone and we strive to help increase sustainable value creation by seeking out products in new geographical areas. That is why we sailed our big, beautiful catamaran MS Rygerdronningen to the Arctic city of Tromsø for the winter of 2021/2022 to start Whale and Northern Lights safaris during the polar night.

Theme cruises
A great way to enjoy our beautiful fjords is to combine a fjord cruise with an exciting cultural experience! We call them ‘Theme Cruises’. The boat glides quietly and at a comfortable pace through the fjords, while we get a closeup view of beautiful scenery through the panoramic windows of the cabin, which has  white tablecloths and comfy chairs. The themes vary, so there is something for everyone, whether you are interested in beer tasting, a bit of bubbly or enjoying Afternoon Tea in the company of good friends.

Tailor-made group trips for companies, organizations and groups
We offer made-to-order tours and have extensive experience in putting together packages with food, activities, entertainment and accommodation as needed based on our client’s needs and wishes. We offer custom cruises and group trips to Western Norway's many exciting hotels, restaurants and attractions along the coast.

Our unique party venue Lysefjord-Helleren
Rødne owns the fjord restaurant and party venue Lysefjord-Helleren in Lysefjord. You can only get there by boat and the voyage through beautiful fjord landscapes in this small oasis is a delight in itself.

Lysefjord-Helleren offers tempting menus based on seasonal local ingredients, including barbecues and shellfish.

Boat charters
Rødne offers boat charters from Bergen and Stavanger, all year round, as well as from Tromsø during the winter. We have 14 boats of various sizes, with capacities ranging from 70 to 297 guests.

All our modern catamarans are spacious, with large sun decks, appealing lounges and plenty of space both outside and inside. Several of the boats have ample table space and can offer full food and licensed beverage services on board, with lounge area and equipment for audiovisual presentations. These boats are well suited to conferences and meetings of all sizes and are a great setting for both professional and social gatherings. We are happy to help with everything from setting up tables and technical solutions to catering and services on board.

Sustainable fjord adventures
Rødne has a clear goal of being a leader in environmentally friendly boat transport. We are genuinely committed to the environment with ongoing fleet investments and modernization. Our aim is to cut emissions, reduce pressure on vulnerable fjord environments and create even better guest experiences. We work continuously to develop modern and sustainable solutions. In the spring of 2020, our first fully electric boat, MS Rygerelektra, arrived in Stavanger. Rygerelektra is a solid proof of our commitment to environmental friendliness and green tourism.
