Zachariasbryggen – BergenExclusive fjord and mountain experience
We sail from downtown Bergen through magnificent landscapes in Osterfjord to Modalen. The crew takes us safely through the strong currents of the shallow and narrow Mostraumen strait. Along the way, the captain will steer the boat’s bow as close as possible to one of the waterfalls!
The tour includes:

After a beautiful fjord cruise, we arrive in Modalen. This is one of Norway’s smallest municipalities with less than 400 inhabitants. The village of Mo lies nestled between the mountains and the fjord with old white charming wooden houses and a beautiful wooden church. The mountain guide takes us on a short drive from Mo to the starting point of the hike to “The Castle”. We now leave the main road and start working our way up the mountain along a hiking trail. The hike takes about one hour each way and has a vertical gain of 200 meters. In some places the hiking trail might be wet, so we recommend sturdy and waterproof hiking shoes. From the top you will have time to enjoy your packed lunch and the wonderful view of the fjord landscapes that we just sailed through.
Our experienced mountain guide ensures a memorable and safe mountain trek.
After a nice lunch break at the top, we head down to Mo again. Once back in the village, there will be time for refreshments on the pier or a refreshing swim in the fjord, before leaving by boat to go back to Bergen.

In addition to the ticket price above, a passenger tax of NOK 5 per guest will be added.

All our boats have toilets, access to changing tables, sun decks and spacious lounges. Kiosk offering fresh baked goods from our local bakery, snacks and refreshments. Free Wi-Fi on board.

The hike is not suitable for wheelchairs and baby carriages. Dogs are not allowed on this trip.
Audioguiding over the PA system in Norwegian and English on board the boat.
Other languages are available when the crew sees the need.
Norwegian/English speaking guide accompanies the group on the mountain hike.
This trip requires a minimum of 4 guests, and it must be booked no later than 12:00 the day before departure.

Please be ready to leave the boat at 11:30 when arriving in Modalen.
Guided hike. We recommend that you bring:
- Sturdy and waterproof hiking boots
- Small sack with some water and food
- Windproof jacket
- A thin wool long-sleeved top
- Hiking pants (jeans and sweatpants are not recommended)
