Your privacy is important to us, and we want to make sure you fully understand how we handle your personal information. You can also instruct us to delete your personal details, and we explain how farther down in this text.
When making an online reservation at rodne.no you will be sent to our booking system, which is operated by Visit Group – Citybreak. That is where we store the following information about you:
This information is stored so we can offer you the best possible service. Entering your name at the start of a booking makes it easier for us to find your reservation.
We use your email address to send you booking confirmations and information relevant to your trip but will not use it for marketing or other purposes without your consent. Your phone number helps us contact you quickly about your booking.
In some cases, we are required by law to register the full name and date of birth/age of our travelers. Dates of birth or age can also be used in our booking system to make sure you get the correct price (such as discounts for seniors, students and children).
We also use information provided to help make a reservation, such as destinations, requests for special meals or information about health concerns and more, as part of our service to you as a customer.
We ask that you provide such information when booking a tour online, by telephone or in person.
When making a payment by credit card, you will be connected to our digital payment service provider, Dibs, which is part of the Nordic countries Nets group. Your credit card data is stored securely there and can only be used by our employees for refunds due to cancellations. Even then, we can’t access your full credit card details.
We store personal information as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above. We usually save your personal information for two years from the date of your last trip. If you have registered for newsletters or special offers, we save your personal information as long as you wish to continue receiving our updates. You can stop such subscriptions at any time by clicking on the cancellation link in the newsletter or by contacting us at e-mail.
In some cases, we may need to store data longer when required by law or when handling such things as complaints.
Our employees and our system partners and administrative service partners can access your information. Some other partners, such as bus companies, hotels/eateries and local partners can also access your details. However, we only share the most essential information.
You may withdraw your consent at any time for us to access or use the information you provided.
That means you may also request modifications or deletion of your personal details. Such a request must be made in writing to us at e-mail. Your personal data will then be corrected or deleted within a month. If you have booked a trip that is not yet completed or have an ongoing issue, such as a complaint, your personal information will be deleted within one month of the matter being settled.
