Frequently Asked Questions
The winter hike to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) is considered moderate to challenging, depending on the weather conditions. If snow and ice make the trail slippery, we provide spikes (crampons) and trekking poles to ensure a safe hike. You don’t have to be an experienced hiker, but should be reasonably fit.
Yes, our experienced guides assess conditions, provide safety equipment (crampons and poles), and lead you along the best route. We also recommend hiking with a guide rather than going alone to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Yes! Many of our guests had never previously done a winter hike. The trail to Preikestolen is well marked, and our guides ensure a safe and fun experience. Some days the trail is dry and easy to walk, while other days the trail might be covered in snow or have icy stretches. In such cases, we provide crampons and poles for extra stability.
- Wear layered clothing, a windproof and waterproof jacket, insulated gloves, a hat, and sturdy waterproof hiking boots.
- Bring a backpack with snacks, water and an extra pair of warm socks.
- Spikes/crampons are provided.
Yes! The Lysefjord is breathtaking in winter, with snow-covered mountains and frozen waterfalls. Smaller crowds make it a peaceful and magical experience. Keep an eye out for eagles, seals, and unique ice formations along the fjord.

All our boats have toilets, access to changing tables, sun decks and spacious lounges. Kiosk offering fresh baked goods from our local bakery, snacks and refreshments. Free Wi-Fi on board.

The hike is not suitable for wheelchairs. Suitable for participants who are generally in good physical condition & have previous hiking experience.
