FAQ Tromsø

What happens if the weather affects my tour in Tromsø?

Safety always comes first with us. If the weather in Tromsø gets too rough, the tour may be adjusted or, in rare cases, cancelled.

Arctic weather has a mind of its own – it can change within minutes, and local conditions often vary a lot. Even if the forecast shows clouds or strong winds, it can still clear up quickly. If you’re worried about rough seas, we recommend taking seasickness tablets before departure.

  • If the weather makes it impossible to operate the tour, you’ll be offered a new date or a full refund. We’ll notify you by SMS and email with details on how to rebook or get your ticket refunded.
  • If the weather prevents us from reaching the whale feeding grounds during the whale watching cruise, we’ll offer, when possible, a shorter Arctic fjord cruise as an alternative. Our captain will choose a safer, more sheltered route closer to shore. Guests who join this tour will receive a 50% refund of the original ticket price.
  • The Northern Lights can often be seen even with some cloud cover. Within the Tromsø area, weather can vary dramatically, and the sky often opens up for a quick glimpse of the lights – so don’t lose hope if the forecast looks cloudy. Nature might surprise you
