Why is the tourist car ferry on the Lysefjord more expensive than regular ferries?

The ferry is operated on a commercial basis, without public subsidies. That means that all costs, including operation and maintenance, must be covered by the income from ticket sales alone. We have tried to keep the ticket prices down as much as possible, but they must be high enough for us to keep the ferry running in Lysefjord.
